Let's get the discussion going on Roxen CMS 5.0.

Has anyone had a chance to install it and go for a test drive?

Haven't yet but I can't wait until I get time to do it. It really looks promising and I think the link manager will come in really, really handy.

Nice work Roxen!

I istalled it locally at home yesterday just to give it a try and I must say that the keyboard shortcuts, mainly in CE, is sooooo sweeeet :)
That makes life a whole lot easier!

That's one of the gems in the new version. The mere fact that the enter button doesn't cancel wizards is such a relief! :)

I did try it out last week and it's great! ;)
Couple of features are great for (us) developers, but specially it contains great link management, workflow and even lock-on-edit (as I heard) so lots of things our clients are asking for.

So now we have to find out how hard it will be to upgrade a4.5 site to 5.0 (and using all new features...)

That was soon ;)

I'm in the making of upgrading our intranet to Roxen 5.0. Since we've been running the intranet for +4 years I really needed to do some refactoring - I wasn't the sharpest Roxen knife in the box back then ;) - so everything is re-implemented from scratch: templates, modules e t c.

I've noticed that there's some compatibility issues with some of my custom made Pike modules but that's a good thing in most cases since Pike 7.8 is more nitpicky about unused variables and such.

One breakage was where I used some regular expressions, but that was solved by using Regexp.SimpleRegexp instead.

All in all Roxen 5 is an extremely positive upgrade. The new keyboard shortcuts in the content editor are great and Pike 7.8 and MySQL 5 is also really, really nice :)

Super!
